Distillery Safety: The Challenge
A whisky distillery operator turned to portable safer working equipment specialists SA Equip for help as a raised platform installed to reduce asbestos from a warehouse roof had created a contained space.
The issue? Lack of ventilation and the presence of fumes from the barrels made this a hazardous working area.
SA Equip supplied plug-and-play equipment to address dangers created during the distillery’s maintenance work and also provided an overview of the precautions needed for working in this environment.

• The creation of increased airflow reduced the risk of an explosion, satisfying the risk assessment for working in the bonded warehouse.
